Electric Vehicles (EV's)

City Electric Vehicle Fleet
The City of West Covina has eight electric vehicles (EVs) in the city vehicle fleet. The EVs are 2000 Ford Electric Rangers or Toyota RAV4s, similar to the gasoline versions. The EVs run on an electric motor and are currently being utilized by the Fire, Community Services, Public Services, and Finance Departments.

Funds for the vehicles come from the Assembly Bill (AB) 2766 Air Quality Improvement Fund, which allows the City to assist in the maintenance of its fleet without dipping into the City's general fund.

The City of West Covina is an active participant in the San Gabriel Valley Council of Government Electric Vehicle Communities Corridor Program and has demonstrated a commitment to the use of alternate fuel vehicles.

The Public Works Maintenance Division believes that the EVs zero emissions and quiet operation will benefit the air quality of our community. In addition, by using electric power instead of gasoline, our community is helping to decrease dependency on fossil fuels and reduce the production of smog.

Public Charging Stations
The Public Works Maintenance Division has installed public electric vehicle charging stations at sites around West Covina. The public charging stations are located at:

1444 W. Garvey Avenue

Westfield Shoppingtown
The Plaza at West Covina
112 Plaza Avenue
